Harris read fine art under the late Arthur Berry R.A. at the North
Staffordshire college of Art. he graduated with a BA (Hons) in 1978.
He spent 12 Years living in Shropshire painting Contemporary Art. In
1993 he moved to the Orkney isles to combine his love of wildlife
with his painting. During the 9 years he lived in Orkney he had
numerous exhibitions in Scotland. His work is also in private
collections in Europe, Australia and in North
America. His Analytical Studies have formed permanent installations
in Museums, including the Smithsonian Institute, Washington D.C..
His exhibition 'natural studies' at the Peir Arts Centre Stromness
was commended for its educational contribution at the Edinburgh
Museum Awards. David now lives in Aberdeen and with his partner
Cheryl, breeds and shows welsh cobs. Through his developing passion
for the breed he is moving more towards equestrian art.
